Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept Denti-Cal or HMO?

We do not currently work with these programs.  However, we do accept PPO insurance plans.  Please contact our office if you need any assistance regarding your insurance.

Why do I have to pay upfront for my appointment? Why won't my insurance pay you directly?

Dental “insurance” companies do this to inconvenience patients into seeing in-network dentists instead of out-of-network dentists.  Many of these “insurance” companies profit much more when you see an in-network dentist because they can reimburse those dentists much less.  The assignment of benefits is but one tactic used to help convince you to see one of their “preferred” dentists–that is, the one they can reimburse less to.

Most dental “insurance” companies are able to assign payments to dental offices, but this is not the policy for Delta Dental of California.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that emergencies arise from time to time for our patients, just as they do for us.  However, when a patient cancels an appointment without adequate notice, or simply fails to keep an appointment we cannot use that time to serve the needs of our other patients. Therefore, we have developed this policy regarding failure to keep appointments or cancelling appointments without adequate notice. We respectfully request your understanding and agreement to our policy as it is stated below.

We will give you a reminder a week and three days in advance of your scheduled appointment. It is very important that you confirm your appointment with us. If we do not get a confirmation from you, it may become necessary to cancel your appointment for an emergent patient. Any patient who fails to keep an appointment or who cancels or reschedules an appointment less then 2 business days prior to their appointment will require to pay a fee of $150.00 in order to schedule a new office visit. For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made noon on the preceding Thursday. This fee will have to be paid prior to your next appointment. If a patient fails to keep three appointments, or fails to give adequate notice on three occasions, the practice will have the right to dismiss that patient.

Can I schedule a first appointment just for a cleaning?

Brushwell Dental believe in proactively fixing problems, not ignoring them.  During your first appointment, you will be given an initial exam to assess your oral health and diagnose any problems (if there are any).  Based on the exam, your dentist will provide you a comprehensive treatment plan.  We will then quickly schedule you for an upcoming cleaning appointment.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes, we are currently accepting new patients.  As a new patient, your first appointment will include a comprehensive exam and consultation that includes X-rays.  Your dentist will answer all of your questions and provide you a personalized treatment plan.  Afterward, our staff will help you schedule future appointments.

What languages do you speak?

Do you treat children?
